Letter from CAS Keith Hui

9/22/2020

Dear Lehua Families,

Attached is a letter from our Complex Area Superintendent, Mr. Keith Hui regarding distance learning plans for Quarter 2. As announced from last week’s press conference by Superintendent Kishimoto, schools will look towards the Department of Health’s Guidance for Schools when making decisions on whether or not students would return to campus. Our complex area is discussing a possible staggered approach to bringing students back, but we will start the second quarter like we are now with distance learning. Please see the letter for more information.

Thank you,

Mr. Fukuhara

Stay at Home - Work From Home Order

8/25/2020

Please note that Lehua Elementary School is NOT impacted from the latest emergency order.

Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell announced a "stay at home, work from home" order for the island of O'ahu for two weeks beginning 12:01 am Thursday.

The latest order does not impact the public school system, which will continue to be open for online instruction and to support students and staff. Mayor Caldwell confirmed that HIDOE schools and offices - which are deemed an essential business - will remain open at the request of Gov. David Ige along with other educational institutions. HIDOE employees are expected to continue reporting to their designated work sites.
